Our state is divided into 47
legislative districts. Generally, each
legislative district is represented by one
state senator and three delegates.
The
30th Legislative District of
Maryland has three geographically distinct
divisions:
· Most of
the Broadneck Peninsula that stretches
south and east of the neighborhoods in the
vicinity of the Anne Arundel Community
College. It includes Arnold, Cape
Saint Claire, and dozens of other communities
that surround College
Parkway, Routes
50/301, Ritchie
Highway and St.
Margaret’s
Road;
· Most of
the Annapolis Neck Peninsula to the
south and east of Severn Grove Road, Bestgate
Road, and portions of Riva Road. It
includes the entire cities of Annapolis and Highland
Beach as
well as the communities bordering those
jurisdictions.
· A large
portion of South
Anne
Arundel
County along the
shores of the South, Rhode and West Rivers and the
Chesapeake
Bay. It includes
Woodland
Beach,
Mayo, Galesville, West River and
Shadyside in addition to the portions of other
communities such as Edgewater, Harwood,
Owensville and Lothian that are east of
Solomon’s Island
Road.
Senator John Astle,
along with Speaker Michael Busch and Delegates
Virginia Clagett and Ron George serve the
residents of District
